Riley entered the Gym only to find the Gym Leader tyed up along with her pokemon and lots of other pokemon were in the gym and didnt seem too friendly.

''Typhlosion,Porygon,Pupitar'' Riley sent out his pokemon

''Blast Burn'' Typhlosion created Pillars of flame and whiped at pokemon
''Psybeam'' Porygon fired a beam of psychic energy at the pokemon
''Hyper Beam'' Pupitar fired a beam of energy at the pokemon

all of the pokemon fainted

Riley untied the Leader ''are you ok'' he asked ''Yes'' she said ''My name is Maylene im the Gym Leader here and was tied up by weired Space men'' Riley instantly knew who she was talking about. ''Im here for a gym battle'' said riley ''You dont need one here'' said Maylene and gave him the Cobble badge. ''Why'' asked Riley.

''You beat all of those pokemon that overpowered us so obviously you are the stronger one'' explained Maylene.
